Civic Engagement
I have been involved with Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as JDRF) since 2007, both as someone living with Type 1 Diabetes and as an active participant in fundraising and awareness efforts. This cause is personal to me, which is why I have consistently contributed to events, campaigns, and initiatives that support research toward better treatments and ultimately a cure.
Through my work with Breakthrough T1D, I have developed a deeper understanding of how community, advocacy, and consistent engagement can drive real impact. It has shown me the importance of using your platform, no matter the industry, to support something bigger than yourself.
Within the fashion industry, I see a strong connection between storytelling, visibility, and purpose. Fashion has the ability to influence culture and start conversations, and I am interested in being part of a space that not only creates visually compelling work but also supports meaningful causes. Whether through brand partnerships, awareness campaigns, or inclusive design, I believe fashion can play a role in highlighting health-related issues like Type 1 Diabetes and fostering a more socially responsible industry.
